About Us
Swanmead is a 9-13 Middle school serving the town of Ilminster and its surrounding villages and hamlets in South Somerset.
We currently have more than 350 students and that number is expected to rise gradually over the next few years.
We work hard to ensure that there is good liaison with our local First schools, our partner Middle school Maiden Beech in Crewkerne - and the Upper school, Wadham C of E School in Crewkerne.
Our attractive buildings and grounds provide a range of specialist facilities.
Our staff provide the breadth of specialist knowledge and experience necessary for the range of talents and abilities of our comprehensive intake.
While at Swanmead, many of our students enjoy their first experience of public speaking, residentials and day trips, school performances and representative honours in a range of sports.
We see our school as being central to the life of the community we serve, providing opportunities from Line Dancing to Word Processing for up to a thousand people a week, as well as having an active School Association.
