Religious Education
The Religious Education course covers the Somerset Agreed Syllabus, Key Stages 2 and 3. We aim to promote "the spiritual, cultural, mental and physical development of students, reflecting the fact that the religious traditions in Britain are in the main Christian, whilst taking into account the teachings and practices of other principal religions represented in Britain". The course helps students to acquire understanding and insight into religious beliefs, traditions and practices; to explore questions of meaning, purpose and morality and to discuss and reflect upon their own ideas. Details of the course are available upon request. Parents have the right to request that their child be wholly or partly withdrawn from Religious Education if they so wish. Any such requests must be made to the Headteacher. Students withdrawn will undertake private study in the classroom or School Library.
